Meet the architect
Hello, I’m Ulrich.
I’m a professional architect and artist with a modern aesthetic and a love for combining nature in my designs. I’m known for my style of combining simple, clean lines with contrasting textures, to elegant effect.
I hand-draw my concepts, create architectural designs with heart, and specialize in designing with my clients’ budgets and needs kept front of mind.
After my success as a professional architect for a well-known South African architectural firm, I made the move to independence in 2019, and ever since have been designing under my UpStudio brand.
I have been fortunate enough to have worked with clients and companies from all over Africa, many of whom I have built great friendships with.
In my studies, I won the National Murray & Roberts Des Bakers Award, Architectural Student of The Year award, and received Best Masters of Architecture Thesis award from TUT.
